Dorothy Bodiford is a Louisiana native whose life story exemplifies resilience, determination, and the strength of family. Born into a large family of 12 children, Dorothy learned the value of hard work on her family’s 60-acre farm, which laid the foundation for her incredible journey from small-town life to becoming a Senior Buyer for designer dress and bridal fashion in a chain of 28 department stores.

With an eye for detail and a passion for retail, Dorothy climbed the ranks of the fashion industry, attending buying trips in New York City and building a career that allowed her to blend the simple values of her upbringing with the elegance and excitement of high-end fashion. Mark Twain and The Lost Temple

Her book explores that deeper connection using historical photographs and paintings, and original hand-painted illustrations, showing how Twain borrowed "Mormon" motifs, images and ideas that echo the Restored Gospel in several of his most famous stories, and how the words from Twain's memorial to his daughter match point for point the story of the Latter-day Saints in Nauvoo and their lost temple.
